Why These Clever Animals Use Transportation
You can find my animals in all kinds of vehicles. Over the years they have rode in planes, biplanes, tricycles, boats, trains, cars, trucks and spaceships. Besides, how boring would it be to not have wheels or wings or some way to go.
I grew up in an environment of cars. My father was a car dealer and owned a gas station repair center. He also owned boats, drove many interesting cars, raced go-carts, bikes and cars, traded sandrails, dirt moving machines and god knows what else. Vehicles were always central in my life and a part of the scene. I’ve ridden motorcycles all my life and lived on the water for years where kayaks, sailboats and motorboats were everywhere. This period of time was captured through my work in the form of ski boats with skiers, sailboats. kayaks and the occasional tugboat. Vehicles can be interesting and fun so I don’t see why my animals shouldn’t have fun too.
Animals riding tricycles first manifested as fish riding tricycles from the old saying, ‘A Woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle’. Since then, a circus theme has emerged and I have created elephants and tigers riding bicycles.
